DAY 1
You will get picked up at your accommodation in Lima at around 6.30 / 7.00 (time changes depending on location) and board on a tourist bus where our guide will explain you in detail the programme of the day while you start heading towards Paracas. On the way, we will first make a stop at the Cristo del Pacífico viewpoint (great view of Lima from here) and then will have time for a panoramic tour around the pre-inca ruins of Pachacamac. Before arriving, you will also have the opportunity to have some breakfast at a unique bread oven we will stop at, where you can purchase some good, fresh and not to mention delicious Peruvian bread (not included). The bus will then take you to Chincha, where you will visit the underground slave tunnels before continuing to Paracas. You will get to Paracas and will have time for lunch. You will then be taken to the accommodation and will have time to enjoy the rest of your day as you prefer: you can either rent a bike and cycle to the National Reserve, or just decide to walk on the beach of Paracas, or just relax by the pool at the hostel. You will then spend the night there.
DAY 2
The second day the real adventure starts. After breakfast (not included) you will get taken to the dock to start your amazing boat tour to the Ballestas Islands - you will have the opportunity to explore this paradise and will be able to spot the local fauna on the rocks, such as big groups of sea lions, small penguin families, and a huge variety of sea birds like seagulls, cormorants, pelicans and others. You might also be lucky enough to see dolphins in the water. The Ballestas Islands are also famous for the huge deposits of guano (seabird droppings) the local bird fauna has left throughout the centuries on the rocks. This has created a real natural reserve of this important fertilizer that a couple of centuries ago got to become the first Peruvian product as for exportations. The tour lasts about two hours and back to the shore (at about 10.00), after a short break, you will set off towards the Paracas Natural Reserve. This bus tour will make explore the highlights of the area, such as the local flamencos (parihuanas), and the interesting rock formations of the reserve, created by sea and wind erosion. At around 13.00 you will then move to Huacachina (one hour ride) arriving there at around 14.00. This breathtaking oasis is located in the middle of the desert in a surreal atmosphere. Here you will be able to sandboard down the biggest dunes in the whole continent and get to take a ride on a Dune Buggy. The bus back leaves at 18.30 and drops you off at your accommodation in Lima late in the evening, 23.30 approximately.
