ITINERARYITINERARY
The tourist bus will pick you up from a central La Paz accommodation between 6.30 - 7.00am (depending on the hotel) and take you to Copacabana arriving around 11.30 am in time for a lake-side lunch (not included). At 13.00 we take a private boat to visit the southern part of the Sun Island - this is a 4 hour round trip that includes a roughly one hour walk, a visit of the sun temple and a spectacular viewpoint. You will be given a map to explore the area yourself so that you can visit the main sites at your own pace - you will be told when you need to be back to the port for the ferry back. 
Returning from the island the bus will be waiting to take you on from Copacabana back to La Paz at 18.00. You will arrive back in La Paz at approximately 22.30 and be dropped off at your central La Paz hotel.

  • All cancellations incur a minimum cancellation of 20% of the ticket price (80% refundable)
  • Within 8 days of departure: 40% of the ticket price (60% refundable)
  • Within 4 days of departure: 60% of the ticket price (40% refundable)
  • Within 48 hours: no refunds
  • Cancellation on the first day of your package, or day of departure: no refunds
  • Non-notification of cancellation and departure has already occurred: no refunds

Do you offer a Sun Island tour starting from Puno?
Our Copacabana 2-day and 1-day tours both start from La Paz, but they can also start from Copacabana. So if you are in Puno and want to take our 2-day tour then you will need to arrange your own transport from Puno to Copacabana and then start the tour from there. You will need to arrive before midday in order to be able to participate in a tour the same day.
Alternatively, you can have a look at the Puno to Copacabana to La Paz Bolivia Hop bus pass that also includes a 4 hour round trip to the Sun Island. This might be the best option for you if you are then moving onto La Paz.
