Eco Tours
Eco Tours - We are developing a series of eco tours and options that comply with sustainable tourism principles. The eco tours industry in Bolivia in still developing but has lots of potential to offer incredible Eco Tourism products. Kanoo Tours is going to be trying to offer the best eco tours in bolivia to our customers. We will not just be jumping on the "Eco Tours bandwagon" - we believe this is the future - the only future - that tourism and our planet can have.
Green Action Certified Tours
Currently we can offer a number of tours in the Bolivian Amazon that are certified as sustainable tourism operators and have achieved the "Green Action" award. This award is a jointly created project by the Bolivian and Rurrenabaque government authorties, USAID and was developed with assistance from Solimar International.
Carbon Offsets
The majority of people that visit the Bolivian Amazon do so by flying to Rurrenabaque which is the starting point for many of these tours. We recognise that although we offer sustainable and eco friendly tours from Rurrenabaque the fact that people fly there can have negitive consequences on the enviroment and therefore make our tuor packages less eco friendly than we would like. In order to compensate for this we purchase Carbon Offsets for every flight to and from Rurrenabque that we sell. The company we purchase these carbon offsets from is the world reknown Carbonfund.org . You can read more about how carbon offsets work on carbonfunds web site HERE
We are still developing our eco tourism packages but in the meantime here is a selection of our tours that we considered to be good eco friendly options. These tours are considered to being working to principles of sustainable tourism - not harming their environments and being of benefit to the local community, We will be adding more eco friendly options as soon as we can.
