DAY 1 – Rainbow Mountain
You will be picked up from your accommodation at around 4.30/5.00 am and start making your way first to Arco (on the route to Puno) eventually getting to the Checacupe district (2 hour journey). Then we will continue to Pitumarca and a number of small villages till we reach the community of Hanchipata-Quesuno (another 1.5 hours). Here we will have a good breakfast and get ready to go. During our hike we will be able to enjoy the view of numerous mountains around as well as of the Ausangate glacier, and we will be able to witness up close the local wildlife and camelids in their natural environment. The trek lasts for about 3 hours until we get to the stunning landscape of Vinicunca (Rainbow Mountains). Here we will have about 45 minutes to relax and take amazing pictures of this natural wonder. We then hike back to the starting point of the trek and we will have a well-deserved lunch. We then return to Cusco arriving at approximately 19.00 (dropoff at San Francisco square). Entrance fee is also included in the price.

DAY 2 – Cusco – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes
Pickup from a meeting point at 9.30 to 10.00 am approximately and we start our drive to Ollantaytambo where we will take the 12.55 am train to Aguas Calientes arriving at about 4 hours later. When we arrive in Aguas Calientes we will take you to your hostel and you will have the rest of the evening as free time to explore the area or visit the local hot springs.
DAY 3 – Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Ollantaytambo – Cusco
Early in the morning we will take a 1 hour uphill hike to the site of Machu Picchu (or for an extra cost you can take the shuttle bus in 30 mins ) where we will embark on a 2 hours guided tour of the site. We will see the most important monuments like the Royal Quarters, the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial, the Temple of the Three Windows, amongst others. Once the guided tour has finished you will have time to explore the site by yourself until later in the afternoon when we will take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes in time to catch the 21.50 train back to Ollantaytambo (you can also choose to return on an earlier train - please see options below). From there we will board a private bus back to Cusco (dropoff in the city centre).
