The Ecolodge "El Tucuaral" is located in the world famous Madidi National Park near to Rurrenabaque and is owned and operated by our partner Bala Tours. This tour provides quality English speaking guides, accommodations and services at a good value price - highly recommended.
This is the tour we recommend for people wanting to see the Madidi National Park Jungle area with a quality of service above that of the budget tours. We consistently get good reports from our customers returning from these tours. This tour can be done as a shared tour or a private tour. The default option is a shared tour for 150us$ per person, if you wish to order this as a private tour (228us$ per person) then please choose the private tour option when filling in the booking form below.
DAY 1 – Meet up at the office at 9.00am and you will be escorted to the boat to embark on jounrey of around 3.5 up the Beni River to the El Tacural Lodge. Upon arrival there will be some time to relax in a hammock and the group will be served lunch. In the afternoon, once the miday heat subsides a little, you will be taken on some of the jungle trails by your guide where you will learn about the enviroment and look for animals such as monkies,deer, peccaries,capybaras and a variety of birds. He will also show you some medicinal plants and remedies for various illnesses. Dinner is served back at the lodge and afterwards the group will go on a night walk to witness the noctural wildlife and listen to the many sounds of the jungle.
DAY 2 – Today after breakfast the groups visits an area known as Caquiawara. here we will find a clay lick where we can observe parrots and macaws. You will have great views of these birds from an observation platform and hopefully some good photo opportunities. After lunch you can relax in the hammocks for the final time before we set off by boat again to rurrenabaque arriving approximately 5pm.

This tour starts in Rurrenabaque and DOES NOT include the cost of transport for getting there. We can arrange flight or buses for getting to Rurrenabaque.
GROUP SIZES
Groups are usually from 2-6 but can be larger. We require a minimum of 2 people booked on your chosen date to confirm this tour (this is usually not a problem)
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Malaria is extremely rare in the pampas and jungle near Rurrenabaque and there has not been any cases contracted locally for many years.That said, there are plenty of mosquitos in the area so it is considered a possibility. Other insect bourne diseases such as yellow fever and dengue are in the area so a good insect repellent and long sleeve shirt plus long trousers are essential.
