You will have to be at the office in Paracas at 7.45 and from there you will be taken to the dock to start your tour. You will then embark on a fantastic boat ride to the Ballestas Islands. You will have the opportunity to explore this paradise and will be able to spot the local fauna on the rocks, such as big groups of sea lions, small penguin families, and a huge variety of sea birds like seagulls, cormorants, pelicans and others. You might also be lucky enough to see dolphins in the water. On your way to the islands, you will also pass by the so-called Candelabra geoglyph - a huge, mysterious stone figure that is said to have a connection with the Nazca Lines. The Ballestas Islands are also famous for the huge deposits of guano (seabird droppings) the local bird fauna has left throughout the centuries on the rocks. This has created a real natural reserve of this important fertilizer that a couple of centuries ago got to become the first Peruvian product as for exportations. The tour lasts for about 4 hours and will get dropped off in the centre of Paracas at around 10.30.
