Located in one of the growing areas for restaurants in San Miguel , Zona Sur, La Paz, FRIJOLEROS 99% Mexicano has been a popular choice since opening in early 2009. With its clean , sleek decor and open relaxing feel it is equally suited for relaxing evening of sipping margaritas as it is for a quiet meal for two.  The service is friendly and efficient and the menu varied enough for everyone’s tastes. Although the prices are above average for a La Paz restaurant so is the standard so it overall it seems fairly priced.

We visited the restaurant on a Friday evening and it was busy but not full so it should be perfectly possible to turn up and get a table most evenings. We were welcomed by a small glass of spiced wine and quickly seated and served. The food arrived promptly – we choose chimichangas (fried burritos) and a tortilla soup both of which were tasty and reasonable portions.We drank horchata with the meal which was authentic tasting. After our meal we choose mango margaritas for desert. These took a while to drink due to the icey thick consistency but we never felt rushed to leave.

Over all this is a recommended restaurant and worth a visit if you’re planning to be in the San Miguel area of La Paz.It is open from Tuesday to Friday from 7pm and on Saturdays and Sundays all day from 8.30am for breakfasts, from 12.30 for lunch and in the evenings full menu.
