Fans of the football team "La Paz FC" took it upon themselves to "kidnapp" their team as an act of protest when it was annouced that the team would start to play their matchs in a different stadium.The team is actually from the city of El Alto , which is situated above La Paz City itself and is considered a city in its own right. Due to safety concerns the authorities have decided that the La Paz FC can no longer play their matchs in the Estadio Los Andes stadium in El Alto but must play in the Hernando Siles stadium in central La Paz. Fans of the club complained that this is too diffficult for them to get to and that it will also effect local business trade near the El Alto stadium. In order to get the authorities to take notice of their complaints they locked the team inside the stadium after a training session for more than 4 hours!
