We will taste some fresh products before we move to the local botanical garden. Here, we will learn about the benefits and properties of natural plants - natural pharmacy in the Amazon has a tradition that dates back to centuries ago and still preserves the original principles. We then return to the lodge, have lunch and some time to relax. In the afternoon, we go out for a new canoe excursion through a natural pond where we will also try to learn how to fish with the "take and release" technique - our guide will show you how to do it. Before going back to the lodge for dinner, we will also go see the remains of a steamboat, the Fitzcarrald, and learn about its history. We will spend the evening at the lodge enjoying our last night in the Amazon.
Unfortunately today our jungle experience has to come to an end, and after a good breakfast we have to leave the lodge and make our way back to Puerto Maldonado. Depending on timing, you might have some time to take a walk around the colorful local markets to taste some fresh food and purchase some souvenirs.
