Kanoo Tours travel agency has been serving travellers in Bolivia since April 2008. We first opened inside Loki Hostel and quickly became known for our honest and straight forward advice, great knowledge and good value tours. Soon we were asked by the Adventure Brew Hostel to open an office there in order to provide their guests with the same great service. Here we opened our second office in September 2008.
The agency grew from strength to strength and in February 2009 we launched the first full online booking service of any travel agency in Bolivia. This enabled travellers to book buses, tours and other transport in advance so they didn’t miss out due to high demand during busy periods (sometimes some popular options are booked up weeks in advance). No other travel agency in Bolivia offers the ability to make bookings with a shopping cart system and pay with credit card or PayPal online. The service proved to be very popular and meant that travellers could now actually book things in advance safely and not have to worry about risky western union transfer and scams.
We noticed that our customers were not just the guests from the two hostels and many where coming from other hotels to use our services so we decided to open a another office. After finally acquiring the office space in the location we wanted 2010 saw us opening our third office on Calle Illampu near to the popular witch’s market area and close by to many hotels and other agencies. From the outset we aimed to look different to the other agencies in the area: clean, professional and modern. We refurnished the office space completely and late May we opened the doors for service.
For 2011 we have even more plans to improve and expand. Apart from working on our fantastic new web site we will be expanding our trekking operations this year to be the best trekking agency there is. There will be new package tours to cater to every type of traveller plus some more exciting new projects (that will remain secret for now!). We are hoping 2011 will be our best year yet and want to help thousands more travellers experience the incredible country of Bolivia.
